Event and participant

I apply to participate in Man Ride 2026, a self-supported 100 km or 200 km road ride organised by Black Sheep Performance Apparel Pty Ltd ABN 89 606 647 241 on 3 October 2026.

I confirm that I will be at least 16 years old on the event date. If I am under 18, my parent or legal guardian must also provide consent.

Self-supported ride

I understand that this is not a closed-road race, guided tour or fully supported event. Roads remain open to traffic.

I am responsible for my preparation, navigation, food, water, clothing, medication, bicycle, repairs, transport and decision to continue or withdraw. A ride leader helps coordinate a group but does not guarantee my safety, pace, route completion, or mechanical or medical assistance.

Risk warning

Long-distance road cycling involves significant physical exertion and risks that may cause property damage, illness, serious injury or death. Risks include collisions with vehicles, bicycles, pedestrians, animals or objects; falls and rider error; traffic and intersections; roadworks, debris, potholes, gravel, wet or uneven surfaces; heat, rain, wind, storms and poor visibility; fatigue, dehydration, heat illness, overexertion and pre-existing conditions; equipment failure, punctures, navigation errors, separation from the group and delayed access to assistance.

I acknowledge that some risks are obvious or inherent and cannot be eliminated even when reasonable care is taken. I voluntarily accept the risks of travelling to, participating in and returning from the event.

Participant declarations

I confirm that I am medically and physically capable of attempting my selected distance and pace, or will seek medical advice where appropriate.

I will use a roadworthy bicycle, wear an approved and correctly fitted helmet, carry a working phone, have access to the route, and carry basic repair equipment, sufficient food and water, and any medication I may need.

I will comply with Queensland road rules, lawful directions and reasonable event safety instructions. I will not participate while affected by alcohol, illicit drugs or medication that makes riding unsafe.

Changes and conduct

The Organiser may change my group, ride leader, route or start time, or postpone, suspend or cancel the ride, where reasonably required for safety, weather, legal or operational reasons.

I may be asked to leave a group or the event if my conduct creates an unreasonable risk or materially disrupts the ride.

Emergency assistance

If I become ill, injured or unable to communicate, I authorise the Organiser, event personnel and emergency responders to obtain emergency assistance and contact my nominated emergency contact.

I remain responsible for costs charged to me by medical, ambulance, transport or other providers, subject to any rights I have under law or insurance.

Release and legal rights

To the maximum extent permitted by law, I release the Organiser and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, contractors, sponsors and event personnel from liability for loss, damage, injury or death arising from the materialisation of an obvious or inherent risk of the event or my voluntary participation.

Nothing in this waiver excludes, restricts or modifies a right, consumer guarantee or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified. The release does not apply to liability that the law prevents the Organiser from excluding, including liability arising from reckless conduct where the applicable law so provides.

Privacy and communications

I consent to the Organiser collecting and using my registration, contact, emergency, selection, consent and incident information to administer the event, process my ticket, communicate essential ride information, manage safety and respond to incidents.

Information may be shared with authorised event personnel, service providers and emergency responders where reasonably necessary. Black Sheep's privacy policy and applicable privacy law govern access, correction, retention and complaints.

Refunds and selection changes

I understand that entries, refund requests and ride-selection changes close at 11:59 pm AEST on 27 September 2026. Tickets are non-refundable from 28 September 2026, except where a refund or other remedy is required by law.

Parent or guardian acceptance for riders aged 16 or 17

I am the rider's parent or legal guardian. I consent to their participation and agree to the Man Ride 2026 Participant Waiver and Risk Acknowledgement on their behalf to the extent permitted by law.
